S&K Technologies, Inc. Technical Support Specialist in Aiken, South Carolina
S&K Logistics Services, LLC (SKLS), a member of the S&K Technologies Family of Companies owned by the Salish and Kootenai Tribes, is actively seeking a Technical Support Specialist. This position will provide technical support to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Savannah River Field Office (SRFO) covering all applicable project management and project control documents for the Savannah River Tritium Facilities small project portfolio managed by the Savannah River Tritium Enterprise (SRTE). Specifically, SRFO requires an experienced project manager that will evaluate, and document small project performance improvement areas to include actionable recommendations to improve the oversight and execution of small projects. This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Manager for Programs (AMP). This position is responsible for providing a variety of technical and administrative support as assigned and is heavily involved in the day-to-day activities of AMP. As such, the demand for effective communication with an emphasis on confidentially, discretion, flexibility and a high level of professionalism is a must. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical reviews and evaluations:
Review of all applicable (FY20 and FY21) project management and project control documents to ensure they adhere to DOE/NNSA cost control guidelines.
Review integrated project schedules and cost baselines to ensure they adhere to DOE Orders.
Evaluate Infrastructure and Safety, Capability Based Improvements, Recapitalization, and Defense Nuclear Security project scopes in sufficient detail to identify risks and issues.
Review project oversight abilities of the Savannah River Field Office in support of the Tritium Facilities Small Project portfolio to ensure compliance with DOE Orders.
Provide technical oversight, briefings, documents and reports on project executions:
Perform site visits to the Savannah River Tritium Facilities to observe small project planning, scheduling, and work execution.
Attendance and participation (In Person, Video-Teleconferencing, Conference Calls) in periodic project meetings as well as briefings to senior NNSA SRTE management.
Developing technical documents and/or assessment reports to explain or defend with internal and external customers, as necessary, issues identified during document reviews.
All qualifications, education, and experience listed in the job description must be able to be demonstrated at an appropriate level for the position through evaluation of the resume, testing, and an interview process as appropriate. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related technical discipline is required.
10 to 15-years’ experience as a construction project manager at DOE-NNSA facilities is preferred.
5-years’ experience performing technical construction oversight is desired.
Project Management Certification is preferred.
Current drivers’ license, proof of U.S. citizenship or proof of authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Current Q clearance is required.
Must have advanced knowledge in integrated project scheduling, project controls / EVMS / risk management, design engineering, procurement engineering, configuration management, and quality assurance.
Program audit and assessment experience is desired.
Excellent verbal and written communication required, as well as, the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers/employees.
Must have effective skills and behaviors with an emphasis on confidentially, discretion, and flexibility.
Must be able to manage time efficiently and be able to meet deadlines.
Must be able to work professionally with individuals and diverse groups.
Must perform task assignments seamlessly without supervision within a team environment in support of NNSA missions.
Must have an advanced understanding of correspondence management, data collection, and office software (i.e. Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and FileMaker Pro).
