Job Role and Responsibilities:

VMware is looking for a thought leader in content curation, instructional design, and user experience design to innovate and enhance our learning portfolio, as well as scale to meet leverage and source existing content from the broader VMware ecosystem via the Content Curation process.

Strong candidates will have a proven track record of success in developing and sourcing enablement for highly skilled, educated adult learners across a dynamic organization. A successful candidate will work analytically and collaboratively with the WWRACE teams. They will identify, understand and prioritize training gaps, source content, and support content development activities from the extended VMware organization.

Additionally, strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage the programmatic nature of this initiative, influence without authority, establish a network of curators, and possess the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities & Scope

  • Work with WWRACE stakeholders, the established skills dictionary and the Universal Content Dashboard to identify, document, organize and prioritize content gaps

  • Collaborate with the extended VMware organization to identify contributors to curated content such as subject matter experts and content owners

  • Create a network of content sources throughout the organization

  • Engage content sources using established protocols

  • Fill content gaps with curated and created assets throughout VMWare

  • Support content development activities as needed within the curation process

  • Maintain up-to-date content in multiple delivery platforms through application of content life-cycle management practices

  • Coordinate with the Racetrack team to ensure curated content fulfills role and skill requirements

  • Ensure curated and/or created content meets established WWRACE standards

  • Maintain a curation roadmap for stakeholder visibility

  • Communicate curated content availability to the extended team

  • Manage the publishing, tagging, and utilization of curated content

  • Track and report metrics associated with curation

  • Leverage incentive programs to reward content contributors

  • Manage, innovate, and own the Curation Program within WWRACE, including looking for opportunities of growth/evolution of the program with systems, processes, and tools

Required Skills:

  • Degree in Adult Enablement topics strongly preferred; related educational background considered

  • 3-5 years of experience in a corporate setting driving business outcomes

  • Ability to implement the latest trends in distance learning and design

  • Experience sourcing content from throughout the organization (i.e curation)

  • Proficiency with Xyleme, Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360, or similar e-learning authoring development tools

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Project or program management experience, preferably in education
