Customer Success Solutions Engineer
The VMware Tanzu Customer Success Solutions Engineer (CSSE) plays a critical role in building and sustaining customer relationships while driving the adoption of VMware Tanzu solutions to achieve our revenue goals.
A typical day in this role:
Partner with strategic customers to become a trusted advisor with the ability to influence the technical roadmap.
Present VMware Tanzu vision, strategy and product roadmaps to executives and technical management.
Work with the customer success team to drive business outcomes for our customers.
Collaborate with the account team to qualify new sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making process and funding.
Develop and implement account strategies to drive the adoption of Tanzu solutions within strategic accounts.
Present and advocate for the design and value of the proposed VMware Tanzu solution and business case to customers and prospects.
Participate in RFx and drive POCs to meet the customer’s success criteria.
Work collaboratively with Product Management, Technical Marketing and Engineering during the development, launch and continued refinement of VMware Tanzu products.
Continued learning about VMware Tanzu products through self-study, collaboration with peers, and organizational training.
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience with design and/or implementation of distributed systems architectures on private or public cloud infrastructure
3+ years relevant work experience in pre-sales, post-sales, professional services, consulting or similar roles
2+ years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Understanding of cloud trends and best practices, including cloud-native, Devops, and infrastructure-as-code principles
Experience presenting to small and large audiences (Executives, Management & Developers)
Analytical ability, problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
Effective in working both independently and in a team setting
Ability to travel up to 50% regionally.
Desired Skills / Experience:
Prior technical post-sales experience.
Experience with modern cloud platform technologies and tools such as Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes
Experience with infrastructure automation/orchestration tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Terraform
Understanding of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics (WaveFront, NewRelic, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Logstash, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, Datadog)
Familiar with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification (https://www.cncf.io/certification/cka/) from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience
