Position Description

What does a great Lead Project Manager do?

The Project Manager – Team Lead has full knowledge of the primary job functions within project management and is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. This position is the first step toward a management position, creating an introduction to management in combination with the person’s core job function competency.

What are some of the essential responsibilities you will have in this role?

  • You will provide direct leadership to Project Management associates within the team

  • We take projects from original concept through final implementation and will work with multiple partners affected by the project.

  • We develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports

  • You will act as a change agent by identifying and recommending changes in procedures, processes and delivery. We encourage you to lead self and others to implement and adopt approved changes.

What are the basic qualifications needed for consideration?

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Seven years of professional experience in a project management and/or consulting role for large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects required

  • Three years of experience as a Project Manager-Team Lead or Manager of Project Managers required

  • We expect that you will be able to build relationships and influence other functional areas

  • You will also need well-developed negotiation skills and the ability to build consensus

  • Organization and time management skills required: we require that you are able to operate independently with minimal guidance by management

  • Problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis required

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in project management processes and resultant methodologies including meeting planning, facilitation and public speaking

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Project Management Tools such as MS Project, Project Workbench, etc.

  • Experience working in the Information Technology and/or Financial industry with development lifecycle environment (e.g., design, development, testing, implementation, etc.)

Have any of these preferred certifications, experience or degrees that will help you stand out?

  • Master’s Degree preferred

  • PMP certification preferred

  • Project Management Office (PMO) experience preferred

Travel required: Occasional travel required (less than 25%)
