We are seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Linux Automation Engineer. The work is high profile and critical to our nations? security. The Linux Automation Engineer provides all the necessary technical expertise and guidance to develop and modify complex Linux based programs & scripts to automate operating environments.Detailed responsibilities include:
Developing Linux based logic, code, tests and debugging of software package automation.
Packaging and engineering releases to integrate with the Linux operating systems, including assisting in automated deployments of applications and supporting process re-engineering activities
Providing innovative engineering and systems integration services to automate complex Linux environments.
Investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
Identifying implementation technical risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives
Designing, implementing and maintaining procedures relating to service catalog and/or service level management activities
Assisting in rectifying issues and improving service
Minimum of 10 years of Linux and automation experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience deploying technical solutions into enterprises
Worked in high performance, highly complex deployment environments and done hands on automation in a linux based environment.
Experience using the Agile Framework
Hands-on skills in scripting in Linux/Unix Experience with Deployment Automation for applications using scripts or tools like Puppet, Chef, or Salt
Hands-on experience in Build Automation and Release Management
Hands-on experience with Build repositories like Nexus
Hands-on experience with Build tools like ANT or Maven
Hands-on experience with web servers such as Apache Web Server, Websphere, Tomcat or Red Hat TC Server, JBoss, etc.
Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SMTP
Experience with cloud and web service technologies
Eagerness to learn and grow skill set EOE/M/F/D/V
Demonstrated expertise in security policy and implementation.
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in an IT, engineering, or science discipline and/or 10+ years of experience in an IT Project or Program Management role.
Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, SAFe Agilist or SAFe for Government Certification a plus.
Certifications in technical confines such as Microsoft, Redhat, IBM a plus.
