Oracle Principal Exchange Administrator - (JoinOCI-Other) in Charleston, South Carolina

Responsible for the operation of production environments, including systems and databases, supporting critical business operations. Will perform administration and analysis for multiple production environments and recommend new and novel solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability. This is an opportunity to bring a combination of deep technical knowledge with administration/analysis knowledge of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide escalation support to a wide range of complex production environment problems related to immense growth, scaling, leveraging the cloud, extremely high performance, and high availability requirements.

Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production server hardware and software. Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third party vendors to resolution and coordinate a storage infrastructure of Oracle system and database appliances. Responsible for Oracle production environments; assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching; and work on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. Provide on-call support, on a rotating basis.

BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. Identifies and implements complex solutions in Technical Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems; and administering and troubleshooting issues with messaging middleware and message brokers. Knowledge of enterprise platforms. Desire to keep up with modern technology and make recommendations. Knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment. Travel may be required in accordance with business needs. Related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems. Advanced knowledge of network architecture and protocols. Strong experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language. 8 years or more of related technical experience may be substituted for degree requirements, including Infrastructure support and server administration; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Responsibilities

As Oracle moves services to Cloud platforms, Oracle IT is looking for a self-driven professional that possesses a strong combination of IT engineering and IT operations skills.

Duties will be varied and complex requiring independent judgment and proactive action with the role including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Act as an SME/Lead for Oracle’s Microsoft Exchange Online implementation as part of the global Collaborative Applications team

  • Provide hands-on engineering and system administration support for Collaborative Applications email services, including the Microsoft Exchange Online environment, during AMER hours

  • Own service improvement initiatives in response to internal business demand, Microsoft’s service roadmap or through the deployment of new features to provide improved functionality

  • Communicate with Oracle IT management on service performance and project delivery

  • Provide an interface for internal business units to develop solutions to business problems relating to Microsoft Exchange

  • Contribute to the Collaborative Applications Email service roadmap, encompassing Exchange Online and email security related services

  • Troubleshoot problems to define and implement scalable and supportable solutions

  • Mentor and lead other team members to develop Exchange Online, Active Directory and PowerShell skills within the team

  • Define and document Standard Operating Procedures

What you’ll work with

The role requires a sound knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Online services, Microsoft Active Directory Hybrid implementations, PowerShell scripting and email security technologies within Exchange and delivered via Email gateways and SaaS services provided by Proofpoint.

The team also manages email routing services in Oracle cloud, hence knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) technologies would be advantageous.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8 years’ experience of working with Microsoft Exchange Online/o365

  • Proven experience of PowerShell administration and scripting, particularly for automation

  • Experience of a Hybrid Exchange/Azure Active Directory deployments

  • Experience of leading projects within a complex IT environment

  • Knowledge and experience of API integrations with Exchange Online/o365

  • Recent experience working in Tier 3 support/engineering role or Senior Tier 2 support role

  • Demonstrated ability to work with business contacts to develop solutions and / or on board approved service integrations

  • Strong knowledge of IT Security controls

  • Knowledge of Email routing, delivery and message protection services

  • Understanding of the concepts, architectures and operation of Customer Key, Customer Lockbox and Advanced eDiscovery

  • Knowledge of Proofpoint message protection and associated services (TAP, EFD, TRAP/CLEAR)

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills

  • Excellent verbal and written English Language communication skills who can communicate well with middle to senior management

  • A self-motivated individual who can demonstrate strong prioritization skills to retain focus on key objectives
