KBR Software Engineer in Charleston, South Carolina
Position is eligible for REMOTE work.
The FAA requires that all aircraft flying in specified areas of airspace must be equipped with Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) technology. KBR has developed the ADS-B Performance Monitor (APM) system for the FAA to monitor the performance of aircraft operating in these areas. The APM performs real-time analysis of detected aircraft, warehouses metric data, and provides web-based toolsets used to determine if aircraft are meeting the FAA’s requirements. The Software Developer will join an existing Agile team to enhance the capabilities of the FAA’s ADS-B Performance Monitor System. Specific duties will include:
Participate in daily Scrums with the APM team
Develop software to implement User Stories that describe new capabilities the APM
Develop unit tests exercising new methods
Participate in code reviews
Develop documentation to support the releases and acceptance of the software
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline
A minimum of 10 years software development. An additional five years of experience may be substituted for the degree stated
Must be a US Citizen and obtain an FAA Suitability Determination and receive resume approval prior to start of work
Experience developing Full-Stack Web based applications
Strong communication and collaboration skills
High-Degree of adaptability in an environment with rapidly changing priorities
Results driven in a detail oriented, deadline driven environment
Able to analyze and solve complex problems
Able to understand and adhere to coding standards
Experience with the following software development technologies:
Experience with working in an Agile Scrum environment
Experience with Atlassian toolsets; JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, BitBucket
Experience working with Git and GitFlow
3+ years Full-Stack .NET web development; C#, WEBFORMS, SQL
2+ years .NET Core, ASP.net MVC, and Entity Framework
.NET Security Model for access and role-based security
Experience with Unit Tests during development
Salary range: $81,600 - $122,600
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
