Abacus Technology Systems Administrator in Charleston, South Carolina
Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide systems support for computing platforms (workstations and servers) at Joint Base Charleston. This is a full-time position.
Administer, develop, run tests on, implement, and maintain operating system and related software. Establish and implement standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters. Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and networking problems. Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups and, when necessary, perform data recoveries.
3+ years experience in systems administration. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Must be Security+ CE certified. Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems. Experience working in a physical and virtual environment. Knowledge of VMWare and related tools and technologies. Must be proficient in all aspects of the system life cycle and understand large-scale system development. Able to adapt to the customer environment and develop an understanding of the business. Able to analyze complex inputs and translate data into well-defined system requirements. Comfortable interacting heavily with clients and end users to assess current state of systems and architecture, as well as future needs. Attitude, adaptability, and ability to learn are paramount. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
