Title: Business Info Analyst Sr

Work location: Open - Work at home (must live within 40 miles of an Anthem office)

Status: Full-time, Salary, Bonus Potential

The Business Info Analyst Sr is responsible for analyzing, reporting and developing recommendations on data related to complex and varied business metrics. Typically provides technical assistance to lower level staff. This specific position supports the continued DSNP growth for Medicare and GBD. This position will support the focused alignment from CMS and states and better care coordination, necessitates close monitoring of our duals populations and related enhancements to support integrated processes and appropriate management/care coordination of these members. It plays an integral part in helping to drive process differentiation in downstream departments, accurate inclusion of new and changed plans year over year in our duals logic and appropriate oversight and to support duals enhancements as they are relying on the duals reporting/testing/coding for analysis and process improve

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.

  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.

  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.

  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.

  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis.

  • Support for the constant oversight of accuracy and validity of data up/down stream and the one person who holds this all together. Without this position to support the routine manage of Duals data, the risk for error, broken processes, and missed red flags is significant and will impact downstream departments.

  • Act as a liaison between the business and IT, and communicate with customers about technical issues in non-technical terms.

Information about the Team:

Our team is part of the Government Business Division with a primary scope of work related to Medicaid Medicare Program (MMP) and Dual programs (members that are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid plan). This role would primarily be focused on the Duals side, specifically Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP). We maintain our own database and address both regulatory reporting and operational reporting needs. We work with business owners (both clinical and marketing) to provide insight into the data, as well as maintain the data integrity of our own internal database.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field;

  • 3-5 years data analysis or related experience

  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is required.

  • Experience in SQL coding, Excel, SSRS, and SSIS is required.

  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data is required.

  • Strong Analytical Skills when working with large data sets (either in a table or excel file) is a must.

  • Advanced organizational and problem solving skills.

  • This job is focused on complex and varied metrics, making recommendations and providing assistance to staff as compared to the Bus Info Analyst II job.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Facets, Oracle and Access is a plus.

  • Prefer someone with MMP/Duals experience and familiar with the Jira/SNOW process.

  • Familiar with testing data sets; creating or running sufficient scenarios in order to detect/identify issues.

  • Competent with interpreting technical documentation as well as writing requirements.
