Staples Continuous Improvement Specialist in Columbia, South Carolina

Description

Summary:

Under the direction of and reporting to the continuous improvement manager, this role will identify and lead continuous improvement for O2C business processes and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Think outside the box to solve business problems and address changing business needs

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the processes/policies with the goal to improve customer experience

  • Map out the future process diagrams and other documentation

  • Lead/facilitate cross-functional workshops

  • Document and track new requirements

  • Develop a project plan to implement the opportunities

  • Partner cross functionally to drive intelligent insights through analytics, document expected benefits, provide input for the business case development

  • Lead, execute and coach the implementation of the new opportunities

  • Develop and measure standard metrics to track expected benefits and performance

  • Monitor the new processes to ensure they function as expected

  • Coach and train the run state team on the changes and ensure smooth hand off

  • Responsible for alignment, reporting & providing visibility on the new initiatives

  • Highlight and escalate project risks/issues to ensure timely resolution

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum associate degree or Technical Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of process improvement experience or related work experience

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and root cause identification skills

  • Extensive cross functional team collaboration

  • Moderate to advanced level skills in Powerpoint and Excel

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills

  • Leadership skills to address challenges and influence decision making

  • Acute business acumen in providing support for complex issues

  • Self-Motivated, must be able to learn, understand and apply new methods

  • Strong work ethics and a team player

Preferred:

  • Experience in using continuous improvement methodologies i.e. Lean Six Sigma

  • Project Management experience

  • Knowledge of Sunrise Order Management, Oracle Financials, Webcollect

  • Bachelor’s in finance / Business Administration or relevant years of industry experience

  • Ability to positively influence morale, sense of belonging and participation

  • Willingness to travel
