The Solutions Architect (SA) provides technical leadership in the Veritas NetBackup solution set including HA appliances, installed and operating throughout the entire Veritas customer base. SA will develop solution proposals, high-level architectures, low-level designs, and engage in systems delivery. This role will leasd project teams through a structured method of solution Planning, Design, Implementation, and Operationalizing Veritas NetBackup and related Veritas products in on-premises data center as well has hybrid-cloud solutions.
Desired Skill Set :
8-10 years’ experience with NetBackup, including Versions 7.x and 8.x and the extensive use of specialized agents employed in the data protection and workload configurations related to MS Exchange, MS SQLServer, Oracle, and MS O365 environments.
New Solutions: Provides technical expertise, application support, training, guidance, and written proposals that may include application products from Vendors such as Veritas, Commvault , EMC, IBM, Innovation Data Processing, Rocket, and other applications designed for data protection.
Planning: NBU engagements consisting of server software and/or appliance-based deployments and/or upgrades in single and multi-site data centers.
Implementation: Ability to configure and execute backup workloads and catalog manipulations allowing for data migrations, backup domain mergers, NBU system host naming in complex DNS environments and to configure high availability server configurations.
- NetBackup 52xx and 53xx series appliances and High Availability (HA) platforms
- NetBackup Cloud Catalyst and NBU 8.x & 9.0 versions
- Oracle /SQL databases and ESX virtual infrastructure data protection procedures
- Storage targets to include, but not limited to EMC DataDomain, Enterprise Tape Libraries, HITACHI, EMC, IBM, Dell and their Data Protection Appliances.
- Systems Administration including Linux, Solaris, HP UX, AIX, and Windows systems and related scripting in shell and Python.
Education, Certification, Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technical major
(equivalent experience may be substituted)
- Any Veritas Certified Professional (VCP) certification in NetBackup Solutions
