Tools Development Engineer

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions

  • Design and develop tools that aid in different types of component analysis (fatigue, creep, LCF , HCF) and p ost processing)

  • Exposure to multiple programming languages is a plus (Python, APDL, C++, J avascript and F ORTRAN )

  • Exposure to engineering analysis concepts are a plus

  • Capability to program mathematical and engineering concepts is needed

  • Testing and debugging of existing and developed tools to resolve any potential issues

  • Assisting users with issues (guiding through process, working with their models, verification of potential issues)

  • Documentation of all changes, issues, and methodologies in a clear and concise manner.

  • Distribute updates to tools software or hardware and fix any short comings.

  • Support user group with any technical questions regarding the tool and the background technical questions.

  • Develop APDL codes for building the finite element model, apply loads and boundary conditions and post process analysis results

Qualifications

  • BS/B.Tech in Mechanical/Aero/Civil/Computer engineering with minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in using ANSYS (APDL, Workbench).

  • Experience of using APDL and Python is required.

  • Experience of using C/C++ and Fortran is preferred.

  • Experience in MATLAB is desirable.

  • Background in engineering design, vibration theory, dynamics, strength of materials.

  • Knowledge and experience of gas turbine components, working principles is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work under time constraints, maintain composure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to interact with employees/managers at all levels with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Mostly Office Environments, Occasional Shop Floor involvement.

  • Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.

  • Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.

  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

  • Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM

  • Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
