Samsung Electronics America Specialist, IT Security Systems Management in Newberry, South Carolina

Position Summary

This position is responsible for support of IT Team, Management of IT Infrastructure, and accounting of IT Expenses.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Endpoint security management

  • Office PC antivirus server administration (AhnLabs V3/AhnLabs PolicyCenter)

  • Production PC antivirus administration (AhnLabs EPS/Trustline)

  • Management of proprietary encryption and PC access control suites (Escort/NASCA)

  • Layer2/MAC security server administration (IP_Scan)

  • Firewall and web proxy management

  • Configuration and administration of PaloAlto Panorama and firewalls.

  • Configuration and administration of zScaler web proxy solution.

  • Server Administration

  • Administration of Windows Server 2012r2 and 2016 r2 servers hosted on vCenter 6.7. Client server roles include WSUS, file server, IIS servers, and MSSQL 2016.

  • Administration of backup server. (veritas/symantec backup exec)

  • Provide local support to Remote Server management team (GMES and Sigma Alpha servers)

  • Local support of global Active Directory services through specialized utilities.

  • DHCP and DNS server administration (infoblox)

  • Data Center Management

  • Configuration and Administration of Schneider Data Center Expert server and supporting probes.

  • Monitor and report on data center temperature, humidity, and status of central UPS.

  • Provide on-site support of Schneider Galaxy VM UPS and CRAC units.

  • Network Infrastructure Support

  • Support local network team to troubleshoot wired and wireless network infrastructure.

  • Assist with design of network and implementation ()

  • Video Conferencing Support

  • Actively support Polycom and Extron based video conference solutions.

  • Help Desk Support

  • Actively support office and production PC users and resolve break-fix issues when help desk team is unavailable.

  • Provide solutions to help desk team for advanced issues.

  • Purchasing and Invoicing

  • Seek out and register new vendors, obtain competitive quotes, and directly purchase IT assets, consumable supplies, and services.

  • Process all IT related invoices in ERP solution and work closely with finance team to ensure timely payment.

  • Maintain reports for monthly, quarterly, and yearly spending trends required for yearly budget creation.

  • Perform PC inventory physical inspection for accuracy.

  • Using ticketing system to manage IT support cases.

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • vSphere/vmware experience (3-5 years required)

  • Windows Server Administration (3-5 years required)

  • Cisco Network Administration - 2 years required or CCNA/CCNP certification

  • Data Center Experience (3-5 years preferred)

  • Database Administration (1-3 years preferred)

  • Project Management

  • Providing remote and on-site technical support

  • Bilingual in English and Korean is a plus

  • BS/BA or higher in Computer Science or related field preferred


  • Goal oriented and self-motivated

  • Good organization, time management and prioritization

  • Candidate must have the ability to work independently or within a team environment

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment is crucial

  • Ability to learn, excel and deliver at a quick pace is required

Physical requirements

  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry 60 lbs (server installation)

  • Repeat the same movements.

  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
