Spinvi HBSS Engineer in North Charleston, South Carolina
As the Host Based Security System Engineer, you will provide Systems Engineering support to Navy Medicine Enterprise Services Operations Center.
This position is in a fast paced, flexible government environment, working with a team of diverse talented people with solid skills in each of their areas.
Adaptability to change is a must, and an active Secret security clearance is required for immediate consideration for this program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Deploy McAfee Agent, Virus Scan Enterprise, Data Loss Prevention, Host Intrusion Prevention Systems, Rogue Sensor, and other HBSS modules required for Windows/non-Windows systems
Develop and maintain HBSS policies and procedures in accordance with DISA standards
Tune DLP polices and deployments
Monitor and assess malicious attacks and report incidents to the proper IA authority
Monitor the Incident Handling and Rogue Sensor logs, investigate reported incidents, and modify existing policies as needed for approved exemptions
Validate, test, and coordinate all mandatory HBSS module upgrades
Create custom Firewall policies and work with Cybersecurity and CERT teams to identify, configure, and apply host-based IPS signatures to protect against zero-day threats
Create firewall exclusions based on customer demand and the C&A approval process
Work with the Remedy trouble ticket system to address the end user or system issues
Create queries and reports to collect various deployment statistics as required
Provide support to administrators in creating Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) exceptions and firewall rules in efforts to ensure secure site configurations per DISA guidance
Manage HBSS servers in the Navy Medicine Enterprise network and ensure that all are maintained and upgraded according to the latest DISA guidelines
Collaborate with Enterprise Information Assurance (EIA) team to ensure that Computer Tasking Order requirements are met within specified deadlines
Assist HBSS Administrators with HBSS component deployment/updates, policy creation/assignment and updates and query writing, as needed
Daily checks on Windows 2008 R2 servers to monitor the status and the state of the servers
Perform IAVA vulnerability scans using SCAP and Nessus scanning software
Participate in rotational on-call duties to provide after-hours support
Requirements
SME in configuring and deploying McAfee HBSS Servers and all modules
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Preferred)
Possess knowledge of intrusion detection methods protecting DOD computer networks and systems
Possess experience interpreting, applying and advising others on DOD IA/CND policies, guidance and regulations
Extensive knowledge of PC/server hardware and software maintenance
Experience with physical (Dell, HP, IBM) and virtual (VMware) servers
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory services
Knowledge of DISA STIGs, IAVAs, and FDCC guidelines
Windows desktop Operating Systems, Windows server Operating Systems, SQL- both management and querying, IIS. Windows Server 2008 R2 administration
Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Familiarity with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
Familiarity with scripting batch, visual basic, PowerShell
Non-Technical Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms with users and nontechnical staff
Abitlity to write brief how-to technical steps for team knowledge base
