Job Responsibilities The South Carolina Department of_ Administration’s Division of Technology Operations is seeking an IT Services Specialist who will provides world-class customer service and technical support to the Division of Technology Operations' customers. Provides tier 1 incident management and request fulfilment related to the portfolio of enterprise services provided by the Division. Responsibilities for the IT Services Specialist III * You will provide incident management for the Division of Technology Operations' customers to resolve interruptions in service by troubleshooting hardware, software, application, and network connectivity issues. Diagnose customer problems, resolve incidents when possible, and escalate appropriately when necessary. Provide request fulfilment for the Division of Technology Operations' customers to fulfil customer's needs quickly and efficiently. Document each incident management and request fulfilment interaction with all pertinent and relevant information using the appropriate tools. * You will provide effective communication through various channels, including but not limited to, telephone, email, chat, other electronic communication, and in person. * You will achieve productivity goals to meet the Division of Technology Operations' needs in a timely and efficient manner. * You will maintain current technical and operational knowledge of services provided by the Division of Technology Operations, and the responsibilities and functions of all departmental groups using various knowledge bases and other available resources. Update and maintain procedural documentation for internal and external users. * You will perform other duties as assigned. * This position is declared to be essential for the Service Desk to be staffed 24/7. Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum Requirements for the IT Services Specialist III * A high school diploma or its equivalent and experience in office automation systems, or information processing operations. * An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area may be substituted for the required work experience. * An approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR) is acceptable. . Additional Requirements for the IT Services Specialist III * Functional knowledge of Information Technology (IT) fundamentals, including but not limited to desktop operating systems, wired and wireless networks. * Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to communicate technical concepts and ideas in a way that can be understood by non-technical users. * Ability to work in a fast paced, complex, and dynamic work environment. * Ability to prioritize and quickly resolve issues. * May require reporting to work outside of normally scheduled work hours to include evenings, weekends, callback, and on-call shifts. * Position requires up-to-date certifications. * May require reporting to work during emergency situations.
