Eaton’s Commercial and Residential Solutions (CRDS) division is hiring a Bid Manager Support Specialist. This position is based at our Sumter, SC facility.
This position will be located in our Sumter, SC facility. This position provides Bid Manager product applications support for Eaton’s Panelboard and Switchboard product line. Bid Manager is Eaton’s proprietary online application tool for configuring and quoting assembled products and project business. Responsibility includes the development, execution and maintenance of Panelboard and Switchboard configuration tables and rules. As a tool subject matter expert, this role also provides assistance to others within the product line and manufacturing functions. This role is essential for driving efficiencies to align strategic goals associated with the product line sales and operations.

In this function you will:
Maintain attention to Bid Manager detail with focus on the accuracy of the rules and logic for new product additions and product maintenance
Input and manage Bid Manager rules into a proprietary spreadsheet-driven tool (PICK tables)
Help lead software testing, software documentation and user support
Responsibility for the accuracy of the Bid Manager output
Responsibility for review and implementation of efficiency improvement opportunities
Support team goal to achieve Product Line Growth targets via participation in new product development project teams as a representative for the Bid Manager support group
Ensure that assigned Bid Manager change management requests are managed and completed in a timely fashion, with status communication to the appropriate stakeholder
Provide backup support as required to other team members
Support and assist product line, front-end and production teams in resolution of process and/or information quality problems associated with the Bid Manager takeoff tool
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including 5S requirements, and responsible for reporting unsafe conditions to the appropriate management or EHS representative

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Engineering from an accredited institution OR an Associates degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Engineering Graphics Technology or a related engineering field from an accredited institution AND a minimum of 1 year of work experience supporting the manufacturing, design, assembly and/or order processing of electrical distribution products.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sumter, SC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
3 years’ experience with commercial product configuration software
3 years’ experience with Eaton’s Bid Manager tool, Pick Work Bench
Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
Effective cross-functional teaming skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Demonstrated proficiency in verbal & written communications, organizational & computer skills
Demonstrated technical and application knowledge of Eaton Panelboards and Switchboards
In-depth product knowledge and/or ability to gather necessary product data when needed
Project management skills required ensuring related projects are completed on time
