TheNetwork Administrator Seniorinstall, sustain, troubleshoot, and repair standard voice, data, and video network infrastructure systems, IP detection systems and cryptographic equipment. Works under general supervision and applies advanced network administrator knowledge on complex and diverse problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
Performs, coordinates, integrates, and supervises network design, configuration, operation, restoration, and improvements.
Analyzes capabilities and performance, identifies problems, and takes corrective action.
Fabricates, terminates, and interconnects wiring and associated network infrastructure devices.
Manages infrastructure devices and systems using the latest approved software tools.
Isolates malfunctions using diagnostic software, technical data, block diagrams, voltage and waveform measurements, and other tests requiring specialized test equipment.
Monitors performance of systems and circuits.
Coordinates with DoD to analyze and isolate performance faults and implement corrective actions.
Maintains and administers network and circuit databases, records, and forms.
Interprets sketches and layout drawings for placement of distribution systems.
Coordinates request for service orders.
Implements changes to communications-computer systems installations records (CSIR), technical data, engineering drawings, and equipment wiring diagrams.
Updates and verifies entries on system, maintenance, and inspection records.
Initiates, tracks, and maintains shipping, receiving, supply, and equipment documents.
Maintain systems are such as Battlespace Command and Control Center Theater (BC3-T) Operation Center, Joint Range Extension (JRE), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), Multi Source Correlator Tracker (MSCT), Tactical Display Framework (TDF), Digicomp systems, EPLRS, MIDS terminal, KIV-7, KG-40, TACLANE, KY-100, KIV-19A, LMS, SAS, DTS-K, RARITAN KVM, Blue Force Tracker, ADS-B, KSV-21, AN/VRC 103, KG-175D, JR2, but not be limited to those listed in Table 6.1. Suites of Systems and Support Equipment.
Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge & Skills
Advanced knowledge of network routing protocols and how to analyze and configure
Preferred CISCO Professional Certifications and Microsoft Professional Certifications.
Ability to remain current on CISCO and Microsoft platforms.
Demonstrate independent problem solving skills.
Demonstrate good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers, including various country governments.
Ability to uphold integrity and confidentiality with access to all information on the Company network.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree in an associated discipline
Five (5) years’ experience in network administration discipline and IA technology or related area.
Minimum IAT Level II, CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), VMWARE VCP Network Virtualization
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
In general, works in a normal office environment.
Must be able to lift and rack network systems as needed.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally may be required.
